MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.05
      Title: Vegetable Soup
      Yield: 1 Servings
    1/4 c  Butter
    1/2 c  Diced turnips
    1/2 c  Chopped carrots
    1/2 c  Cut up celery
      1 sm Onion; chopped
  1 1/2 c  Raw potatoes; diced
      1 qt Water or broth
      1 tb Salt
           Pepper to taste
      1 tb (to 2) ketchup
  Melt butter in a large kettle and fry all
  vegetables except potatoes until a nice brown. Put
  in potatoes and water; cover and simmer slowly for
  about 2 hours. Add salt, pepper and ketchup just
  before serving. The secret to good soup is to
  simmer very slowly, never allowing it to boil.
