MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.05
      Title: Red Beans & Rice Mix with Recipe
      Yield: 1 Servings
MMMMM--------------------MIX-MAKES ONE RECIPE---------
    1/2 lb Small dried red beans
      1    Bay leaf
      1 ts Salt
    1/2 ts Dried theyme
    1/2 ts Dried basil
      1 ts Garlic powder
    1/2 ts Parsley flakes
    1/4 ts Cayenne pepper
      2 c  Long grain rice

      1    Recipe mix
      1 md Onion; minced
  2 1/2 c  Water
      1    Ham hock (1/2 to 3/4 lb)
      3    Ribs celery; chopped
  4 1/4 c  Water
           Louisiana hot sauce, if
           .. desired
  Combine spices. Pack beans, rice and spices in
  separate containers.

  Red Beans and Rice:
  Soak the beans overnight in water to cover. Drain;
  combine with remaining ingredients, except the
  rice and 4 1/2 cups water. Bring to a boil; recuce
  heat, cover and simmer until beans are tender,
  about 2 hours. Remove the ham hock, cool slightly.
  Remove m In separate pan, boil water. Add rice and
  simmer gently, covered, 25 minutes or until water
  is absorbed. Stir into beans. Serve with hot
  sauce, if desired.
  Makes 6 servings.
