      Title: Pickled Pears
      Yield: 4 Servings
  Take 1 pint of the best vinegar, 4 pounds of
  sugar, 8 pounds of pears, and spices to taste.
  Boil the pears in the mixture until soft, then
  take them out, and boil the syrup until it is
  quite thick, then pour it over the pears.
